GIFT SHOP

The Gift Shop at McGulpin Point offers a delightful mix of souvenirs, apparel, novelties, stemware, books, videos and more. Each year we add to our collection of one-of-a-kind lighthouse and Straits area memorabilia. In addition, we also carry items for the International Dark Sky Park at the Headlands, which is just a shore distance from McGulpin Point. Here you can find Dark Sky apparel and merchandise as well.

The Gift Shop is open during regular operating hours for the lighthouse itself, currently 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Among the most favorite items for sale is the children/teen book, “Ellen Jane.” Written by Frances Margaret Fox, the delightful book takes place at McGulpin Point in the early 1900s. It tells the story of a young girl from Massachusetts who moves to Mackinaw City, MI, to live “with her father, brothers and sister in an old abandoned lighthouse on the north shore of the southern Peninsula of the far-away state, and the south shore of the wide blue Straits of Mackinac.’
